Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB)
Mission Statement: To conserve, develop, protect and manage Colorado's water for present and future generations. Fundamental goals of the CWCB are to develop and implement programs to: -Conserve the waters of the State for wise and efficient beneficial uses; -Develop waters of the State to: preserve the natural environment to a reasonable degree and fully utilize State compact entitlements; -Protect the waters of the State for maximum beneficial use without waste; -Manage the waters of the State in situations of extreme weather conditions both for floods and droughts. The CWCB must also maintain and sustain its autonomy and identity with respect to other State and Federal entities, while collaborating and cooperating with local, State and Federal entities and others, in service to the citizens of Colorado.
