Meadows Center Field Trip TEEAC Credit
Teachers can earn Texas Environmental Education Advisory Committee (TEEAC) professional development credit while their students are on an field trip at The Meadows Center. This learning model allows students to go through the environmental education process with their teacher at the same time. Teachers will be sent a Meadows Center teacher packet consisting of pre and post activities to use with their students back in the classroom and participate in onsite TEKS-aligned activities during the field trip. Teachers will be asked to complete a teacher survey and student surveys. Our education coordinator will act as an environmental education mentor available for additional resources and feedback. This experience is available for K-12th grade teachers of all experience levels. Teachers will receive 3 hours of credit towards the TEEAC certificate of recognition. Pre-service teachers completing coursework at Texas State University are also eligible to receive credit.
Texas Stream Team TEEAC Credit
Teachers can receive credits for continuing professional education through the Texas Environmental Education Advisory Committee (TEEAC) by participating in meetings or training sessions offered by Texas Stream Team.
By completing all three phases of the Texas Steam Team Certified Water Quality Monitoring (CWQM) training, teachers will receive 9 hours of professional development credit. Teachers attending other Texas Stream Team meetings or workshops, such as the annual Meeting of the Monitors or regional meetings, may also receive SBEC endorsed continuing professional education credits. Typically, these are single day meetings that provide 8 hours of credit.
