Girl Scouts Activity

Join us for exciting science and nature programs planned just for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Scouts will discover the unique ecosystem created by the San Marcos Springs on this guided tour! Admission includes the tour, a glass-bottom boat ride, and an exclusive glass-bottom boat patch. 

Check-in begins at 9:30am at The Meadows Center ticket kiosk. Pre-registration is required and space is limited to 30-40 participants per class. Tickets range from $10 to $12/person, depending on the class; children 2 and under are free.

  • Boy Scout Badge Days

    • In this 2.5 hour guided tour, scouts will fulfill half of the requirements for the "Environmental Science Merit Badge.” Scouts will explore various environmental science topics, while learning about the unique ecosystem created by the San Marcos Springs. Admission includes the tour, glass-bottom boat ride, and a Meadows Center patch.

      Check-in begins at 9:45am at the Meadows Center ticket kiosk. Tickets are $12/person; children 2 and under are free. Registration is required.

      *Note: The Meadows Center does not distribute official scout badges. Individuals must purchase those through Boy Scouts of America.

    • In this 2-hour guided tour, scouts will fulfill all the requirements for the “Into the Wild” badge while learning about the unique ecosystem created by the San Marcos Springs. Admission includes the tour, glass-bottom boat ride, and a Meadows Center patch.

  • Girl Scout Badge Days

    • Learn about the importance of water and how to conserve it! In this 2-hour guided tour, scouts will fulfill the LOVE Water and SAVE Water portion of the “Wonders of Water Journey Badge.” Admission includes a guided tour of unique ecosystem created by the San Marcos Springs, a glass-bottom boat ride, and a Meadows Center patch.

      Check-in begins at 9:45am at the Meadows Center ticket kiosk. Tickets are $10/person; children 2 and under are free. Registration is required.

      *Note: The Meadows Center does not distribute official scout badges. Individuals must purchase those through Girl Scouts of the USA.

    • In this 2-hour tour, scouts will fulfill all the requirements for the “Think Like a Citizen Scientist Badge,” except for the Take Action project. Scouts will experience citizen science initiatives first-hand, while exploring the unique ecosystem created by the San Marcos Springs. Admission includes the tour, a glass-bottom boat ride, and a Meadows Center patch.

  • Cancellations must be received at least 24 hours in advance to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made less than 24 hours prior to the event, you will receive half the total amount charged.  The amount refunded will be applied to the credit card that was used for payment.

  • Visitors' vehicles are required to display a permit in The Meadows Center parking lot between 7pm Sunday - 5pm Friday. One-day temporary permits are available for $3 at the pay-and-display station located near the ticket kiosk.
